Firehose Experiment #16, (Now We Reap), 2021, Linen firehoses, threaded rod, nuts, 46 x 28 x 3 inches, photo credit: Mario Gallucci

Created from discarded linen firehoses - some of which had never been used but are deemed useless as new plastic-based ones take their place. They are cut apart, the ends are frayed, and they are harshly bound together with a threaded steel rod and nuts. With this work I employ useless firehoses as a metaphor for our inability to deal with climate change and out-of-control environmental issues of our own making which I allude to in the title Now We Reap.
